Now, some of us have wondered how is proton savvy. Is it good in handling, miser in fuel consumption, or is it big enough for five people?
Here are some of the facts written base on personal experience. It may be biased, though I’ll try to be as objective as possible. Let’s start:
1. It is unique. At the moment, I dont see many of them on the street. This could mean two things: the jakartans do not know about it yet, or they do not like it. For me it is unique and quite funky. Bagus juga kalo jarang yang punya.. Jadi keren sendiri.
2. It is quite economical. Tapi, economical is relative. I used timor (kia) and blazer (opel) before.. So, savvy feels economical. In city, with traffic in Daan Mogot rd. every day, it runs 1:12 approx. (read: 1 ltr = 12 km) I have not test it over the highway yet. But I guess it will run for above 1:15.
3. The head light is very bright. Although it doesnt use xenon, which means it doesnt cost much. It comes with fog light, which help the lighting even more brighter. Especially helpful to identify UFO at night- unidentify frickin object, such as: black motorcycle without lights, or pedestrian crossing on highway (even tollway), or becak and bajaj at night.
4. Handling wise is okay. Steering wheel is a bit heavy for parking. But, it really helps when driving faster. For a small car, it is quite steady. The wheel is quite small though. There is enough space so I can increase the size and the width for better tyre grip. Top speed hasnt been tested. I’ll update soon.
5. Size is small that it is easy to park. It comes with a parking sensor, which beeps when retreating. It may annoy some people. But it actually is helpful. Although you have to be very careful, you may hit poles at corner backs, because the sensors are located near to the middle.
6. Aircon works fine. Jakarta is hot. So it helps a lot. However, it sacfrices power. Without aircon, the car is much better is throttling.
7. It comes without electric mirror, but you can adjust it from inside. Jaman sekarang, mestinya ada electric mirror. Power window also limited to front seats.
8. It comes with a clarion cd-radio player. Sound quality is standard. Maybe affected by the facts that the interior is mad of plastic. However, the interior looks cool at nite, with the interior lights on.
Given the price, i am quite satisfy with the car. This is an independent review, not endorsed by any company. But, I can say more good stuff if endorsed.
